Releases Firewall/VPN Platform with LAN Bypass Function
 TAIPEI,
TAIWAN, April 21, 2004 - IBASE releases the FWA7204, a low-power,
fanless Firewall/VPN platform based on VIA Eden Low Power
Processor. Designed for enterprise users, it provides four
fast Ethernet ports for network security applications.

Performance in Fanless VPN Platforms
The FWA7204 with the VIA Eden processor (up to 1GHz processor speed)
provides superior VPN encryption with speeds faster than encryption
speed from existing network security appliances based on the NS GX1-300
processor with less than 3M bit/sec VPN encryption. And at this level
of performance, the FWA7204 is ideal for the 802.11b/11Mbps wireless
LAN environment.
Best Performance / Cost Effective
The FWA7204 comes with VIA Eden processors with speeds of 300MHz or
1GHz. With performance superseding NS GX1 300MHz VPN platforms, FWA7204
does not require any active cooling, but only a passive heatsink -
offering much higher reliability and longer life span compared with
existing network security platforms. It
supports data storage with the on board Compact Flash connector or
with a 2.5-inch hard disk drive.
